Frank Rinderknecht a Swiss citizen founded the company RINSPEED more than 40 years ago. In doing so his innovations, visions and creations found a way to get put into practice. Furthermore, almost annually he keeps on surprising the worldwide mobility market with visionary concepts.

Only a little while ago “Oasis”, which represented to be a unique alternative to the mightful and heavy SUV, has been introduced.

This year once again Mr. Rinderknecht presented another brand new concept car called “SNAP” to the automotive market. As GF has been contributing to Rinspeed's futuristic vehicles with specially developed components since 2013, the latest impressing lightweight design includes lightweight solution by GF as well.

One of the most prominent features of the innovative e-car is the possibility to separate the chassis ("skateboard") from the passenger safety cell ("pod"). While the skateboard can be recycled after a few years the pod can still be used. For the SNAP, GF provided the support structure between the chassis and the passenger safety cell. The linkage between bionic design and light metal results in maximum strength at minimum weight.
