WFC 2026 Scientific Committee Holds Its First Meeting with International Participation

The first meeting of the Scientific Committee established within the scope of the 76th World Foundry Congress (WFC 2026) was successfully held online on 29 January.
In the opening session of the meeting, the TÜDÖKSAD team introduced themselves to the participants and provided a brief overview of the congress organization process and coordination structure.
Following the opening, Scientific Committee Co-Chair Prof. Dr. Özgül Keleş delivered a comprehensive presentation on the organizational structure, scientific program, and overall process of WFC 2026. The presentation also detailed the paper evaluation and peer-review procedures to be applied during the congress.
Throughout the meeting, participants had the opportunity to exchange views and share their questions and opinions regarding the content of the scientific program, the paper evaluation process, and the overall congress organization.
Approximately 100 participants, representing 51 institutions from 14 countries, attended the meeting.
The First Meeting of the WFC 2026 Scientific Committee was followed at the press level by leading international industry publications, including Foundry Trade Journal, Foundry Planet, and the International Journal of Metalcasting (IJMC).
In addition, World Foundry Organization (WFO) Secretary General Katarzyna Liszka and WFO Board Member Vladimír Krutiš also participated in the meeting, contributing to the process.
This first meeting marked a significant milestone in establishing the scientific foundation of WFC 2026 and officially initiating the congress preparation process.
