Its subsidiary, Yantai Dongfang Analytical Instruments Co., LTD. was established in 2000. Committed to the technical research of direct-reading spectrometer and supporting facilities, the company has developed over 20 high-end instruments in five categories, such as DF series direct-reading spectrometer, X-ray fluorescence spectrometer, ICP-OES spectrometer, LIBS laser spectrometer, and ICP-MS mass spectrometer. The annual production capacity of the company is over 1000 units, leading in the spectrometer industry. The company's products adopt over 30 self-developed patented technologies, some of which has filled the technology gaps at home and abroad.

The company has over 130 employees, with over 80% holding bachelor's degree or above, and over 10% holding master's degree or doctor's degree. Led by a group of experts, professors, senior engineers and technical personnel, including Yangtze River scholars, talents of China’s Thousand Talents Plan, and provincial Taishan scholars, its provincial spectrometer and core components research and development engineering technology center has led the establishment of an industrial innovation strategic alliance. Its X-ray tube production line was officially put into production in October 2018. In 2017, the company, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), and Yantai Municipal government jointly established the UESTC-Dongyi Photoelectric Industry Technology Research Institute, which has cooperated with many universities and colleges to establish Tsinghua University PhD internship base, Ocean University of China Graduate Internship Base, etc.
